He spent his childhood in Newberg, where he grew up on a farm on Parrett Mountain. He graduated from the University of Idaho and then dental school at Oregon Health and Science University. While attending OHSU, he met and married his wife, Gayle. He then traveled with her to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, where he spent 3 years as a civilian contractor providing dentistry for our nation’s heroes while Gayle served as an active-duty dentist.
